The 2008 Presidential Election…one for the record books!

Now that John McCain has picked Alaska governor, Sarah Palin, as his running mate, the 2008 U.S. Presidential election will go down in history for either electing the first African American president (Obama), or the first female Vice President (Palin).

The closest the country has ever come to a similar historic moment was when Geraldine Ferraro ran on the democratic ticket with Walter Mondale in the 1984 election. Mondale and Ferraro were defeated, however, by Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush.
who believe Clinton was the victim of a sexist campaign to deny her the nomination.

Many feel that McCain choose Palin to woo the digruntled Clinton supporters who desperately wanted to see Hillary in the White House as either President or Vice President in 2009.
