Lose your job? Try the Army, Navy, Marines or Air Force

Now that the economy is in turmoil and people are losing their jobs daily, the armed forces are enjoying an upsurge in their amount of fresh recruits.
The Department of Defense announced today that all branches of the armed forces, including the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps, met or exceeded their active duty recruiting goals for January. This is a trend that began in 2006 and will probably continue until the U.S. job market recovers.
The economic climate in the civilian job market is the prime reason for the armed forces becoming more appealing, despite the fact that there are two wars going on. But people are more concerned with health benefits and job security which these military jobs afford.
